A UK leading Accountancy firm our currently looking for an experienced Accountant to join their outsourced management accounting team based within Belfast. The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Director and have responsibility for leading monthly management accounting for a portfolio of clients with duties including but not limited to, transition and stabilization of complex clients through understanding their business and the training of junior team members. Within the role the candidate will be given oversight of the work of several junior team members, identifying and technical gaps within their work and assigning training as and when necessary to fill gaps. Moreover, the ideal candidate will be commercially minded with the ability to establish budgets, fess and billing schedules, ensuring the team achieve agreed targets and profitability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Completes month end accounting processes for a portfolio of clients, and drafts procedural training documentation to support delegation to other team members, and knowledge sharing

  • Trains and delegates to junior team members, reviews their work providing comments for clearance

  • Manages the budget of engagements, develops ‘steady state’ targets for budget

  • Manages the scope of client engagements, identifying additional out of scope work

  • Works with the Service Delivery Lead on the set up of the client engagement on internal RSM systems

  • Initiation of monthly management accounting operational processes

  • Participation in new client design workshops to understand end to end processes, client business/operations, and agreed scope of work

  • Builds excellent stakeholder relationships and is regarded as a ‘trusted advisor’

  • Anticipates resource requirements and works closely with the Management Accounting Assistant Director to ensure no interruption to service

  • Builds a strong reputation for delivering a quality, timely product recognizing that this is a key ingredient of future success with our internal clients

  • Assessment of the suitability of client work for full handover to more junior staff members

Desirable Criteria

  • Highly experienced qualified accountant (3 - 5 years post qualification), able to pull together accounts from ‘missing records’, is resourceful and find solutions

  • Excels at relationship building, adapting their style to the situation, being flexible in understanding the needs of the client and how to deliver an outstanding client experience

  • Resilient and can work calmly and effectively under pressure

  • Highly skilled at developing plans for managing tasks, engagements and team members

  • ERP experience (NetSuite, Oracle, Sage etc.)

  • Practice/audit background preferable
