We have partnered with a leading professional services firm who are looking for a qualified accountant to join their expanding financial services audit and assurance team.

NOTE: Applicants will ideally have an Irish, British or EU Passport, or possess a Stamp 4 visa.

The Role

Our client is looking for an ambitious and diligent Assistant Manager to join their Audit & Assurance Financial Services Department. Their team offers services across numerous key strategic markets – banking, asset management, leasing, real estate and capital markets. The position will offer the successful applicant excellent advancement opportunities working with a diverse range of high-profile financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of Financial Services clients

  • Assist partners and directors in business development activities

  • Control the financial aspects of a client portfolio; including budgeting, negotiating, billing and recovery.

  • Effectively plan and resource staff on assignments.

  • Promote the firm’s values and beliefs, demonstrating integrity and maintaining an ethical stance, using flexibility and tact to express views as necessary.

  • Communicate team goals with clarity and set clear objectives for team members that are aligned to business plans and monitors and assesses performance, providing timely feedback and support as necessary.

  • Recruit, promote and develop talent within the team, ensuring equal opportunities and providing feedback.

  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of the firm’s risk management policies and operational procedures and ensures team adherence to these.

  • Ensure client expectations and issues are understood, developing collaborative relationships.

  • Contribution to learning & development and coaching of junior staff including participation in the delivery of internal training courses

Principal Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with FS audit experience in a Big 4/Top 10 practice environment

  • Experience leading and operational supervision large audit group assignments

  • Experience of managing relationships with clients

  • Technical proficiency in IFRS and FRS 102

  • Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities

  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to others
