Our client is a leading care charity provider looking for a Qualified Accountant to join their finance team – within the role you will be tasked in the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, preparation of budgets along with also providing financial and costing info to divisional directors when required. Moreover, the successful candidate will assist in carrying out any additional duties within the role whether this be the training of more junior staff members within the team or participation in the company’s performance management reviews. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to make the move out of practice into a company providing care to vulnerable individuals here in Northern Ireland.

 

Responsibilities;

  • Create and analyze monthly management accounts, preparing a pack for review by senior management and the finance committee.

  • Develop departmental budgets and forecasts, including income and expenditure accounts, cash flow requirements, and capital projects.

  • Create costing schedules and other financial information for use in tender documents.

  • Generate reports for funders, including capital expenditure and fixed assets reports.

  • Provide support in preparing annual statutory accounts as needed.

  • Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and conduct internal audits when required.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses of financial information as requested.

  • Assist in training finance staff and provide finance training for non-financial managers.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Must have at least three years of experience working in a busy accounts function or practice.

  • Proven experience in account preparation from trial balance level.

  • Demonstrated experience with budgetary processes, including variance reporting, would be beneficial.

  • Qualified Accountant of one of the following recognized accounting bodies;

    1. Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA)

    2. Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

    3. Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA)

    4. Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

 

Desirable;

  • Must have experience with a range of non-audit tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting at a broad level.

  • Should have commercial or industry experience through work experience and/or secondments.

  • Experience with Integra software is preferred.
