We are excited to work with a leading UK Charity Care provider on a role based in their Belfast office as a Senior Payroll Associate – this position will process the company’s internal payroll across all jurisdictions (UK, IOM & ROI).The successful candidate will have experience utilizing payroll software with accuracy and efficiency along with also having great communication skills to interact with colleagues and senior staff. Moreover, the successful candidate will step in as team lead when the Payroll Manager is on leave/sick.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support team members in resolving queries and making decisions.

  • Verify the accuracy of worked hours for each employee.

  • Utilize the integrated software system i-Trent to calculate precise amounts, incorporating factors such as overtime, deductions, and sickness.

  • Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed

  • Utilize an electronic system to upload payslips and address related queries

  • Process taxes and manage the payment of employee benefits.

  • Maintain records of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, and new hire information.

  • Resolve issues and answer inquiries related to payroll from both employees and supervisors.

  • Generate reports for upper management and the finance department.

  • Review pension uploads and handle associated queries.

  • Manage the handling of Benefits in Kind.

  • In the absence of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll team will report to the Senior Payroll Associate.

    Essential Criteria

  • Solid understanding of payroll, HMRC, Auto-enrolment

  • Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field

  • Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases

  • Outstanding organisational ability with great attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Understanding of P11d processing, data and rules

  • ROI Payroll knowledge desirable

  • CIPP qualified or have at least 3 years payroll experience
