We are excited to work on this great position on behalf of our client one of the UK’s largest charity care providers as a Procurement Specialist within the Belfast office. Within the role, you will play an essential role in optimizing procurement processes to ensure the efficient and seamless delivery of vital services! Moreover, the successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating sourcing strategies, negotiating both contracts and prices, and reviewing the technical specifications for all items purchased including equipment and services.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementation of policies and procedures specifically tailored to the needs of our organization. Ensure adherence to all relevant industry standards and guidelines.

  • Research and compile procurement guidelines from various commissioners in the UK and the Republic of Ireland – ensuring our procurement processes align with guidelines to maintain compliance and secure funding.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration by working closely with internal stakeholders, including department heads and finance, to understand specific procurement needs and requirements while building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Create proposals and requests for quotes in line with customer and project requirements along with conducting thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers.

  • Liaise with suppliers on key KPI's - such as delivery, quality & invoice queries and contractual terms

  • Develop and implement a risk management strategy for the procurement process.

  • Develop and execute a phased implementation plan for new procurement policies and procedures, focusing on generating efficiencies and optimising costs.

  • Implement a system for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the procurement process, with a specific emphasis on value for money and operational efficiency.

 

Requirements for Role;

  • Degree level qualification

  • Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or 6 years of Procurement Experience

  • Showcase a track record in preparing, negotiating, and networking for contracts.

  • Exhibit expertise in leading contract negotiations and possessing a solid understanding of legal and contractual matters.

  • Illustrate the ability to conduct market analysis and make data-driven procurement decisions.

  • Display proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive procurement policies and procedures.

  • Highlight experience in continuously monitoring and evaluating the procurement process.

  • Ability to analyse data and understand financial information.

  • Can lead negotiations for contracts and have sound knowledge of legal and contractual issues.
