We are working with a leading global consultancy in Belfast that is looking for a Supply Chain and Procurement Consultant at Manager level. This would sit within the firms Strategy practice and work on an All Ireland client base. This is a new team that is being established for 2023, and so excellent career opportunities exist for individuals joining at this stage.The team focus would be on the following:

  • Cross-sector procurement, supply chain and operations

  • Supplier management and consolidation

  • Supply chain analytics

  • Cost culture development

  • Procurement contracting and cost optimisation

  • Specification rationalisation

  • Operational excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) 

Your role would include the following:

  • Assist local and international businesses with procurement, supply chain and operations support and how that fits into those businesses’ wider strategies

  • Identify sales opportunities

  • Play an active role across all parts of project sales and delivery, from pitching, project planning, problem framing, hypothesising, storyboarding, research, quantitative analysis, identifying insights, write-up and presentation

  • Lead on primary and secondary research, gathering data and testing hypotheses

    Drive project progress through regular feedback and iteration with internal stakeholders and presenting updates to clients as required 

Applicants for this role should have the following:

  • Evidence of concise and visually appealing written communication style, for example in Microsoft PowerPoint. This could include preparing presentations for senior management or external stakeholders

  • Strong presentation skills, confidently handling Q&A and having a perspective on client needs

  • Ability to proactively manage upwards within an organisation, and actively engage internal and external stakeholders

  • Combining responsiveness with attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple asks at once

  • Ability to adapt to new challenges and client questions on a regular basis, with an openness to learn about new sectors

  • Excellent supporting academics – university backgrounds in all subjects welcome

  • Recognised industry credentials, e.g. CIPS, Chartered Engineer, PhD
